wood bison hair on foorehead lower and longer. Horn clear of hair cover. more abrupt change of contour in the back [sharp slope to hip bones] & absence of 'chops' or thick hair around the legs.
plains bison: horns often covered by dense hairs, descending contour on back, larger beard, 'chops' or thick hair above knee cap.
